Finishing up a short story script for one of the Big Four this week. It’s a radical departure from the work I’m usually asked to write, so it’s been a challenge. A fruitful one though! If I had to pick? Probably banana.
Benjamin Hu and the Pharaoh of Hong Kong is about 30% complete. Slow but steady! Really enjoying the opportunity to play around with these characters and to flesh out parts of the Spirit of the Century setting that no one’s seen before. I am going to miss the hell out of Ben and his cohorts when I finally get to the end of this thing.
Huge chunk of my share of the Atomic Robo RPG is done. Maybe half? It’s been an enlightening experience to think about the multitude of valid angles players can use this game to approach Atomic Robo’s world. Quite a departure from our usual method of just, y’know, giving you The One True Version of the setting. Our efforts to help prospective Game Masters make their own Robo-style adventure stories has made me codify things about the comic and my process.
Looking forward, 2013 is going to be jam packed. Right now, I’m…
…in pre-production on a new creator-owned comic series.
…in talks with an artist on another creator-owned comic series.
…batting around ideas for a third creator-owned comic series.
That’s all I can say about those projects for now. Hell, even mentioning them is probably too much at this point. But, they’re projects and artists that have me super jazzed to be in this business.
Meanwhile: I wanna write more The Traitor and the Monk and The Chronicle of the Sword Witch. There’s a ton of potential for those characters. I can’t stand the idea of not revisiting them, but time will tell.
